Unleashing Innovation:
Shaping PRAYOG’s Identity
for Social Impact

On a mission to create a dynamic visual identity for PRAYOG, an effort by IIT Bombay aims at uncovering game-changing solutions to critical societal issues.

PRAYOG, an innovative initiative of IIT Bombay, facilitates connections between solution seekers and providers to tackle development challenges. In pursuit of fostering social impact, PRAYOG endeavours to establish partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, nonprofit organisations, and corporations.

PRAYOG embarked on a project with Simit Bhagat Studios – given our focus on branding for social sector. The core purpose of this project was effective communication of PRAYOG’s priority areas—which include health, education, women’s empowerment, rural development etc.

The end product of this project emerged as a vibrant visual identity that reflects PRAYOG’s commitment to innovation. We created typography, design components, a lively colour palette, and an extensive brand guideline document as a part of this branding exercise. Furthermore, we created a modern website and an engaging pitch deck that reflects PRAYOG’s complex goals.

Crafting Prayog's Social Impact Brand Identity.
Crafting Prayog’s Brand Identity.

Moving forward, we delved into the process of crafting Prayog’s Brand Identity. The first step was to see “PRAYOG” as a metaphor for trying new things.

The energetic, colourful, organised, and pragmatic attitude of the brand is mirrored in the design language. The use of geometric forms such as squares, circles, and triangles, annuluses allowed us to create modular, fun, and participatory compositions.

Additionally, while staying true to the brand’s roots, ethos, and emphasis on technology, these aspects communicate simplicity and accessibility. The collateral highlights the theme of unity, illustrating how diverse individuals can work together towards a shared goal.

The newly created visual identity completely transformed PRAYOG’s brand image. PRAYOG now effectively conveys its purpose and values to partners, stakeholders, and the general public through its pitch decks, website, typography, and brand identity system.

As a result, the new visual identity is a reflection of PRAYOG’s dedication to making a positive difference in the world. This is achieved via minimalism, creativity, and teamwork. This all-encompassing branding strategy positions PRAYOG as an organisation that is prepared to creatively and tenaciously address societal issues.

Expanding our commitment, we at Simit Bhagat Studios embarked on another impactful branding for social sector project. This time partnering with a New Delhi based nonprofit organisation – Udyogini – dedicated to empowering women and enhancing livelihoods.
