The Power of Annual Report Video

A video annual report that highlights a non-profit's impact and outlines its future plans.

Mobile Creches (MC) is a New Delhi-based nonprofit organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of children in marginalised communities.

MC operates mobile daycare centres, partnering with construction sites and urban slums to provide early childhood education and care. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty and create brighter futures for the next generation.

MC partnered with Simit Bhagat Studios to create a 4-minute video annual report based on their print report. The goal was to showcase their impactful work—transforming children’s lives through education and care. The video report not only documented their progress but also helped engage stakeholders.

In this article, we explore how we produced MC’s video annual report:

Pre-Production

Our process began by reviewing their print annual report to extract all necessary data. The design team ensured that the visual theme of the video annual report matched the printed version for consistency. We then developed the storyboard, planning each frame to capture the essence of MC’s work while aligning with their vision.

Production

The print report featured an engaging design element of puzzle pieces. It symbolised the interconnected efforts required to empower marginalised children. We integrated the puzzle theme seamlessly into the annual report video that created a strong visual narrative.

One of the main challenges we encountered was the sheer volume of data the organisation had collected. Condensing all the information into a concise, four-minute video was no easy task. However, through careful selection, we ensured that only the most relevant data was used.

Post-Production

Once the final design and storyboard received MC’s approval, we moved into the editing phase. Each scene was carefully animated to bring the story to life, making it both engaging and informative for viewers. The result was a four-minute annual report video that mirrored the print report, while standing on its own as a distinct storytelling piece. It showcased MC’s achievements over the year, delivering their message with clarity and impact.

Conclusion

At Simit Bhagat Studios, we believe that a video annual report can do much more than just summarise data. It can tell your organisation’s story in a way that inspires and engages your audience. MC’s video report is a prime example of how a well-crafted video can amplify the message of a print report, creating lasting impact.
